for City of Canada Bay Valentines Day Installations 2024

For the City of Canada Bay Valentines Day Public Artwork, Studio LOZ designed a series of kinetic love heart artworks made from laser cut acrylic in pink tones.

The first artwork is called ‘Hold My Heart’. The main piece centred around two love hearts, the smaller one nestled within the larger, as if it as being cradled and embraced by a protective figure. Connected by a series of threads to represent veins or ‘heart strings’ the smaller heart will dance and sway in a wind or soft breeze. The layering of these lines over each other will create a moire pattern effect.

The second artwork ‘The Beat of My Heart’ uses perspective to create depth and movement. To create the illusion of a beating heart, a series of laser cut concentric hearts are rotated around a single axis.
