The ‘Pool Lane Rope’ is a universal symbol for aquatic centres around the world. By reappropriating and rescaling the pool lane rope into an urban setting, LANE CHANGE expands this object into an inhabitable environment.
Turning the pool vertically and twisting its elements together, LANE CHANGE reproduces the experience of being immersed in water. A series of reflective rings are rotated and stacked to capture, mirror and reflect light the same way water does. Its six intertwining tubes pay homage to the form and nature of waterslides.
